They should not have announced a graphical overhaul if that basically means fixing shader bugs and all else stays the same. When mudrunner was announced I checked spintires out again after 2 years absence.

This ugly fog with the blurred background everywhere to cover up the short visibility distance is just not cool. Again I understand it is better for sales to stay on the low side of hardware requirements, but they do not even do it optional. It could handle larger visibility distances, higher resolution textures and so on making the game look good.

The thing is that spintires engine could do much better grahics if they only wanted to commit to normal graphics cards these days and not this toy of a GTX470 from 2012. And creating a map does not take 250 employees as well looking at all the modder maps. Snowrunner has a different physics and game engine, plays it more as an arcade version of the originals. Mudrunner is a more polished game than Spintires and its a good buy. And Spintires engine can do this - obviously - without 250 employees. 1 TheOrangeBox 4:22pm Spintires and Mudrunner uses the same physics and game engine. It does not matter if it is a AAA engine or not, as long as it can produce good graphics. I was hoping to buy MudRunner on PC, I took a look at the specs and they seem kind of Sketchy.
